With a week of Elle and Maggie laid up like the grandparents in
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
We had to call off this…
and go to Plan B. Plan B consisted of daddy bringing home pumpkins from the grocery store–no Pumpkin Patch for our little Pumpkins this year, and a dinner (with on-hand ingredients) served family style: Roasted chicken, Brussle Sprouts with Balsamic Glaze & Spaghetti Squash tossed in a tomato parmesan sauce.
After dinner we got to work…Ty carved, I carefully picked out seeds, Elle directed, and Miss Maggie dancing around like a whirling dervish. When we were finished we lit up our fireplace (a trick I picked up from Martha many years back) with our shining pumpkin faces…
turned out the lights…
and enjoyed happy glows from the fireplace and
warm gingerbread and ice cream!
It’s a great lesson for me the “planner” to embrace the beauty of plan B!
We had a Spooktacular time.

The pumpkins in the fireplace are so pretty!!! I would never have thought of that. I hope the little ones get to feeling better soon.
Thank you Anna! I think we are on the mend. Happy Halloween to you.
